Things are not always what they seem. As I embarked on a transformative move to the Yukon alongside my family in 2019, we eagerly boarded the Inside Passage ferry, brimming with anticipation for the natural wonders that lay ahead. However, to our dismay, our squeals of delight at spotting potential otters and bears, echoed with disappointment as we discovered each time that they were only logs or bushes. Yet, rather than succumbing to disillusionment, we embraced a newfound delight, delving into a realm where log otters and bush bears danced alongside us, intertwining reality and whimsy throughout the remainder of our journey. It is this very essence that I seek to capture in my creations, imbuing each item with layers of meaning. From earrings that whisper hidden messages to paintings meticulously crafted with intention, my work aspires to unveil the depth that lies beneath the surface.
